Privacy Policy
Effective Date: 2026 September 8th
Vidi (“the App”) is built so that your videos never leave your iPhone. The App has no servers, no user accounts, and no analytics. This Privacy Policy explains exactly what the App accesses and what it stores.
1. Photo Library Access
Vidi asks for permission to access your photo library so it can show you your videos and, when you choose, delete them. This access is used entirely on your device.
- Your videos are read for playback and to measure their file size. They are never copied to, uploaded to, or transmitted to us or any third party.
- You can review or revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → Vidi.
2. Information Stored on Your Device
Vidi stores the following locally on your iPhone. None of it is sent anywhere.
- Your decisions: For each video you review, Vidi saves the identifier that iOS assigns to that video, whether you kept or trashed it, its file size and duration, and when you made the decision. This is what lets the App avoid showing you the same video twice. It does not include copies of your videos.
- Free deletion count: The number of free deletions you have used is stored in your device's Keychain. Because the Keychain is managed by iOS rather than by the App, this count is not erased if you delete and reinstall Vidi. This is intentional: it keeps the free allowance from resetting. It is a number only, and it is not linked to your identity.
- Purchase status: Whether you own Vidi Pro is determined by Apple and read from the App Store on your device.
3. What Vidi Does Not Do
- No servers or cloud storage of your data by us.
- No analytics, tracking, advertising, or third-party SDKs.
- No accounts, sign-in, email collection, or contact information.
- No selling or sharing of personal data. Vidi collects nothing to sell.
4. Sharing a Video
If you tap Share on a video, iOS hands that video to the destination you pick, such as Messages or another app. That transfer is initiated by you and handled by iOS and the app you choose, and it is then governed by that app's privacy policy. Vidi does not share anything on its own.
5. How Deletion Works
When you delete videos, Vidi asks iOS to remove them, and iOS shows its own confirmation before anything happens. Deleted videos go to the Recently Deleted album in the Photos app, where Apple keeps them for approximately 30 days before removing them permanently. That album is controlled by Apple and by you, not by Vidi. You can restore videos from it, or empty it yourself to reclaim the space immediately.
6. Purchases
Vidi Pro is sold through the Apple App Store. Apple processes the payment and manages your receipt. We never see or receive your payment method, card details, or billing address.
7. Third-Party Services
- Apple App Store / StoreKit — processes the in-app purchase. Governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
- There are no other third-party services. Vidi bundles no advertising, attribution, or analytics libraries.
8. Children
Vidi is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
9. Data Retention & Deletion
Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to retain or delete on your behalf. On your device:
- Deleting the App removes its stored decision history.
- The free deletion count in the Keychain may persist after the App is removed, as described in Section 2.
- Your videos themselves are always yours to manage in the Photos app.
10. Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
